Using GIS and EAM for Optimizing Street Sweeping Services for City of Los Angeles

Project Description

Psomas is currently providing Geographic Information Systems and Enterprise Asset Management services for the City of Los Angeles’ Street Sweeping Optimization Program, which is being undertaken by StreetsLA. StreetsLA’s Enterprise Asset Management System and GIS mapping are providing new opportunities to take a more dynamic needs-based approach to street sweeping routines. The Program restructures the citywide street sweeping approach by establishing sweeping priorities and potentially changing routes and frequencies based on field verified street cleanliness criterion. This shift will leverage StreetsLA’s technologies to enable data-driven decisions for prioritizing and scheduling street sweeping based on need and the availability of resources.

Services

  • Land Use based trash & debris generation modeling
  • Street sweeping operations and routes assessment
  • Route Optimization
  • Field data collection for cleanliness modeling parameters
