Whittier Greenway Trail East

This 2.8-mile multi-use trail will be located parallel to abandoned Union Pacific tracks and connect with trails in adjacent cities. It will provide scenic open space, alleviate traffic congestion, and improve air quality.

Psomas is providing pedestrian bridge design, creek hydraulics, topographic surveys, and base mapping. Special structural design of retaining walls and bridge abutments was required due to the constrained right of way, a large gasoline pipeline under the pathway, and many smaller utilities along the alignment. Drilled shafts supporting the bridge will straddle the utilities.
