New Interchange for Rapid Growth

The Whitney Ranch community of Rocklin has experienced rapid growth over the past decade in both residential and commercial markets. This new interchange and associated improvements will provide much-needed access to Whitney High School, William Jessup University, and other future developments. The project consists of extending Whitney Ranch Parkway to State Route (SR) 65, as well as adding a new interchange at SR 65 and Whitney Ranch Parkway (between Sunset Boulevard and Twelve Bridge Drive).

Psomas is providing construction management, resident engineering, inspection, construction staking, materials testing oversight, and administration services for the project. Major elements of the project include:

  • Four-lane overcrossing spanning SR 65 (eventually to be widened to eight lanes)
  • Northbound off-ramp
  • New on-ramps in both the northbound and southbound direction

Other project features include:

  • Extension of a 48-inch water line, which will be split into three 24-inch pipes, one of which will be included in the bridge
  • Joint utility trench
  • Extension of an existing box culvert
  • Additional drainage features
  • Street lights
