Interstate 405 Improvements

16 miles of the San Diego Freeway (I-405) between State Route 73 and Interstate 605 is being widened. It involves adding, at a minimum, one general purpose lane and two toll lanes in both northbound and southbound directions, including to all entrances and exits to the freeway. The project falls within several cities and will require widening/extending or complete reconstruction of a total of 17 bridges that currently cross the existing I-405 freeway.
