Interstate 405 Improvements

16 miles of the San Diego Freeway (I-405) between State Route 73 and Interstate 605 were widened. The project included the addition of one general purpose lane and two toll lanes in both northbound and southbound directions, extending to all entrances and exits along the freeway. It spanned several cities and required the widening, extension, or complete reconstruction of a total of 17 bridges that crossed the existing I-405 freeway.
