French Valley Parkway Interchange
Project Habitat Mitigation and Monitoring Program
To reduce congestion and improve safety, the City of Temecula implemented the French Valley Parkway Interchange Project. The environmental permitting process required the City to prepare a mitigation plan and to establish a habitat restoration site in nearby Temecula Creek.
The City, Psomas, and the Restoration Contractor, worked collaboratively to maintain and monitor the site to optimize ecological values. The successful program has been signed off by the resource agencies, and the federally Endangered least Bell’s vireo occupied the restored habitat area from 2011 to 2019.
