In partnership with San Joaquin County Public Works, our Roseville engineering team is proud to have received the APWA Sacramento Chapter “Project of the Year” award in the transportation category. This project marks a significant improvement in road safety for the Linden community, transforming a hazardous intersection into a safer, one-lane roundabout designed to accommodate large agricultural equipment—a critical feature in this rural area.
Key elements include a center island with a wide truck apron, splitter islands, traversable curbs, and additional street lighting, all designed to enhance safety and blend seamlessly with the environment. Federally funded through the Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP), the project has successfully reduced collisions, improved air quality, and increased capacity for large vehicles.
Community involvement was integral, with a live demonstration gathering feedback that shaped the final design. The project was completed on time, within budget, and with a perfect safety record, thanks to the collaborative efforts of San Joaquin County, the Psomas team, and our sub-consultants.
This recognition underscores our commitment to delivering impactful infrastructure solutions that enhance safety and quality of life.
