In December 2021, Psomas’ Brad Blood (Resource Management Group in Orange County) had Part 1 of his scientific article published in the December Bulletin of the Southern California Academy of Sciences. His article updates the existing list of mammals for Los Angeles County last published in 1959. Brad’s article includes current and historic locations of land mammals throughout the County. His research documented 87 species, which is an increase of 18 species since the last publication. He is currently working on Part II that covers the remaining mammal families (from shrews to bats). The title of his published article is: “ An Annotated Checklist of the Terrestrial Mammals of Los Angeles County Part I: Didelphimorphia, Lagomorpha, and Rodentia.”
