Tim Psomas to be Keynote Speaker at Engineers Week

Tim Psomas Presents SCAG Sustainability Workshop about EnvisionTim Psomas, Chairman of the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure and former Chairman of the Board of Psomas, will be the keynote speaker at the Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties 39th Annual Engineers Week Dinner on February 23, 2012.

Psomas’ keynote speech, “Our Engineering Legacy,” addresses how engineers can help the nation make better use of its resources. He will be discussing the new national organization that he is helping to lead: the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure (ISI). This new organization has developed and is promoting a groundbreaking infrastructure sustainability rating system. Fashioned after LEED, the Envision™ rating system focuses on non-habitable infrastructure such as bridges, highways and water treatment plants which constitute one-third of all new construction in the U.S.

The dinner will be held at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library on Thursday, February 23 from 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm.
