Two New High-Rise Towers in Downtown LA
The original 60-year-old, 16-story Wilshire Grand Hotel was demolished in 2013 and replaced by the new, mixed-use Wilshire Grand Center. Completed in 2017, the $1 billion, 3.5-acre redevelopment boasts a world-class, 73-story skyscraper that houses the 900-room InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown Hotel, restaurants, and businesses.
Psomas provided design surveying and mapping services that included boundary condominium, as well as map grading and utility design surveys utilizing BIM. Psomas created 3D models of the site and the over 800 different utility lines on record around the site. Construction surveying services included bent plates, core structure control, steel structure control, steel and concrete as-builts, and structural monitoring.
