Award-Winning Pedestrian Bridge

Psomas was the prime engineering consultant for this award-winning project. It is the centerpiece of a multi-million dollar road widening designed to relieve traffic congestion on Pacific Coast Highway from Interstate 5 to Dana Point Harbor. The Dana Point Pedestrian Bridge provides pedestrian access from local businesses to Doheny State Beach while helping to improve traffic flow by removing vehicle/pedestrian conflicts.

Architectural treatments, lighting, and public art give the bridge and abutments a distinctive look and create an iconic “gateway” to the City. Accenting the abutments are mosaic panels created by local artists depicting scenes from Dana Point’s history.
