City of Anaheim
Replacement of Aging Vital Infrastructure
The Linda Vista complex is a vital domestic water storage and pumping facility in the City of Anaheim. It includes a 4 MG partially-buried water storage tank and a 22,600 GPM, dual-zone booster pumping station. The City retained Psomas to prepare preliminary and final designs to replace the aging reservoir with a new 4 MG pre-stressed partially-buried concrete tank and improve the pump station.
The new tank site was designed to be environmentally sensitive to the existing bird habitat. Psomas analyzed site access and worked closely with the Orange County Water District (OCWD) regarding new vehicle access and routing tank overflow. Permission to utilize soil dredged from the adjacent Anaheim Lake for backfilling the existing buried reservoir following demolition was also obtained.
Services included permitting, CEQA assistance, chemical storage tank inspection and analysis, disinfection system modifications, construction plans and specifications, and resident engineering/inspection.
