Widening a 6-Mile Corridor

The six-mile Houghton Road project will widen the road to six lanes with bike lanes and a multi-use path. Psomas prepared a Design Concept Report (DCR) and 30% plans, which included a phasing plan for the corridor improvements.

Upon completion of the DCR, Psomas designed the segment from Irvington to Valencia including widening both intersections and associated transitions. Psomas successfully coordinated the timely acquisition of 115 acres of right of way from the State Land Department and advanced relocation of water, electric, data and gas utilities to maintain the project schedule.

Psomas performed a GPS control survey, aerial ground control and map verification, right-of-way research, survey and analysis, and topographic as-built surveys of existing conditions.
