Four New Principals of the Firm

Psomas is pleased to announce the appointments of Augie Chang, Ernie Gomez, Bob Talafus, and Byron Tobey as principals of the firm.

 

Augie Chang is the regional manager of Psomas’ San Diego office with over 40 years of civil engineering experience. Throughout his career Augie has made significant contributions in the field of engineering, providing leadership on transportation public works projects across Southern California. Augie served as Chair of the National APWA Diversity Committee and has won five awards from APWA for his contributions at both the chapter and national levels.

 

 

 

Ernie Gomez is the survey team leader in Psomas’ Tucson office. With 39 years of survey experience throughout the state of Arizona, he is responsible for overseeing and directing staff on all aspects of surveying projects, from establishing project survey requirements and procedures, to working with clients and governmental agencies to meet submittal requirements and project schedules. For the last five years Ernie has served on the Board of the Arizona Professional Land Surveyors Association.

 

 

 

Bob Talafus, with over 35 years of experience, leads a civil engineering team in Psomas’ Orange County office. He has experience on residential, commercial, healthcare, entertainment, parks and recreation, and public works projects throughout Southern California. His expertise spans planning, entitlements, design, and construction administration. Bob is active in various associations including ACEC, BIA and ULI.

 

 

 

Bryon Tobey is head of Psomas’ Construction Management Group. He has more than 40 years of experience in providing program, project and construction management services on significant public works projects for a wide array of clients, including Caltrans, City of Los Angeles, San Diego Association of Governments, and Orange County Transportation Authority. Byron is a board member of ACEC San Diego.
