How did you get into engineering?
When I was in high school I worked at a Santa Barbara ice cream shop and the boss’ son was studying civil engineering at USC. I had never heard of it before. I thought it sounded interesting, and here I am 25 years later.
Describe the kinds of projects you work on.
I design the infrastructure for education projects like Mt. San Antonio College and Beverly Hills high School. I’m there from the very beginning to ribbon cutting, dealing with a wide variety of problems and picking the best solutions. What I love about Psomas that it’s a very relaxed working environment, but we’re all working together to get the job done.
What makes Psomas different from other companies in the industry?
Psomas is an employee-owned company. We are working for ourselves and not some shareholders. This gives me a strong sense of pride in our company. It’s a big differentiator that I appreciate.
What about when you’re not working?
My passion outside of work is looking for meteorites in the southwest desert. And I love anything to do with the outdoors, like hiking, camping, and off-roading. This dovetails nicely with looking for meteorites!
