Two New High-Rise Towers in Downtown LA
The original 60-year-old, 16-story Wilshire Grand Hotel was demolished in 2013 and replaced by the new, mixed-use Wilshire Grand Center. Completed in 2017, the $1 billion, 3.5-acre redevelopment boasts a world-class, 73-story skyscraper that houses the 900-room InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown Hotel, restaurants, and businesses.
Psomas provided civil engineering, surveying and mapping (including BIM support and construction staking), and land use entitlement services. The land use entitlement services provided include a development agreement, Transfer of Floor Area Rights (TFAR), conditional use permits, and airspace subdivision. Civil engineering services included preparing a Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP), street tree removal exhibit, and temporary street lighting exhibit.
