Expanded, Rebuilt and Modernized New Land Port of Entry
In response to the need for expansion in port capacity, the existing Land Port of Entry in San Luis, Arizona will be expanded, re-built and modernized. The project will entail expanded parking, roadway modifications, a new administration building, headhouse and secondary inspection area with vehicle lifts.
Psomas is providing planning, civil engineering, and land surveying for the 11-acre site as a part of a team. This includes conceptual and construction documents, specifications, construction phasing plans, off-site street and utility improvements, land acquisition documents and coordination with stake holder agencies and public agency coordination for permits and connection to utilities.
The Land Port of Entry has to operate at full capacity during all phases of construction providing adequate security, facilities and processing time for pedestrians and vehicles.
This project is being designed to meet LEED® Silver certification standards and will be using Building Information Modeling (BIM).
