Sacramento Regional Transit District
Regional Commuter Transit Capital Improvement Support
Sacramento Regional Transit District (SRTD) provides service to an average of 50,000 passengers daily and operates 67 bus routes and 38.6 miles of light rail transit, covering 418 square miles throughout the Sacramento area. To support SRTD’s growth and ongoing maintenance issues, Psomas has a General Engineering Support Services (GESS) contract to provide on-call design services for capital improvement projects. Psomas has held this contract for 15+ years, providing project management, civil engineering, surveying, and right-of-way engineering services. More than 300 task orders have been successfully completed.
Projects consist of designing improvements, retrofits, and maintenance for transit facilities and light rail projects. Facilities and tasks include roadway and intersection improvements, structures, buildings, parking lots, signals and lighting, landscaping, drainage improvements, utility relocations, and water quality measures. Specific projects have included those associated with the Blue and Green Line Extensions, a new bus maintenance and compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling facility at McClellan Park, improvements to light rail facilities, and relocating multi-modal transfer facilities.
