Accessible Paths of Travel to All Parts of the Facility
This 10-acre sports park complex provides softball and baseball fields for the community as well as a snack/restroom building. Psomas provided onsite civil engineering services including all preliminary concept designs, construction documents, drainage study, hydrology study, SWPPP/NOI, and SWMP.
The design of “accessible paths of travel” were required to provide access to all parts of the facility from the adjacent public streets and within the parking lots. A decomposed granite equestrian/ walking trail was designed around the perimeter of the park which doubled as an emergency vehicle access path.
A site detention/percolation basin was incorporated into the park to collect, detain, treat and percolate all onsite drainage to avoid direct discharge into the adjacent and environmentally sensitive San Diego River.
