Park-and-Ride Stations for Light Rail Extension
As residential and commercial development expand at the southern end of the Salt Lake valley, the Utah Transit Authority (UTA) recognized the need to extend their north-south light rail line to accommodate the growing population in Draper. The extension of the blue line added three additional stops: Crescent View, Kimballs Lane, and Draper Town Center.
Psomas provided civil site plans, landscape plans, and utility design for each of the park-and-ride stations along the extension of the line, from the 10000 South Station to the Draper Town Center Station. The stations included ADA compliant routes and parking and site plans that minimized conflicts between transit vehicles, pedestrians, and private vehicles to ensure efficient traffic flows. Psomas provided utilities, grading, and parking lot design. Psomas also served as liaison to UTA, coordinating the project through City project approval processes, planning and conducting regular project coordination meetings, and representing UTA at public meetings.
