LEED® Gold Certified
Campus Wellness in a Sustainable Building
The California State University, Sacramento campus Recreation and Wellness Center, known as “The WELL”, provides state-of-the-art fitness and health facilities for the student body, faculty, and alumni. The new $77 million, 151,000-SF center contains amenities such as a rock climbing wall, weight and fitness rooms, four basketball courts, an indoor track, indoor soccer facilities, and offices for physical therapy and health services. The project achieved LEED® Gold certification, joining a shortlist of LEED-certified recreation buildings in the CSU system.
Civil engineering services were provided by Psomas in two phases, due to the amount of utility relocation and site work that was required. The first phase relocated the existing utilities and construction of a building pad, while the second located building connections for utility services and finished grading for drainage and accessible routes of travel.
