ATP Update: $100 Million Annually for Active Transportation Programs

Making Active Transportation Programs a Reality

$100 million is now available to augment funding Active Transportation Programs (ATP) throughout California. Signed by Governor Brown in April, Senate Bill 1 directs $100 million annually from the Road Maintenance and Rehabilitation Account to the ATP. Known as the 2017 ATP Augmentation, these are state funds and, therefore, projects do not need to be federal-aid eligible.

Funding available for the 2017 cycle will be distributed into the Statewide Component of the ATP Cycle Funding, the Small Urban & Rural Component and the Metropolitan Planning Organization Component on an annual basis.
