David A. Jaffe, PhD, PE, D.WRE has joined Psomas as a Senior Project Manager in the Engineering Group.
“David is a key hire, bringing to Psomas extensive expertise in stormwater quality and sediment transport,” said Matt Clark, Corporate Director of Engineering. “In addition, he brings a strong track record of success in designing engineering solutions to meet environmental regulations.”
An expert in hydrology/hydraulics and stormwater, Dr. Jaffe will be responsible for surface water resources, water quality modeling and engineering projects. This includes flood control, FEMA floodplain services and sediment transport; water quality modeling and design of best management practices; and support for the Environmental Group’s habitat impact analysis and restoration projects.
Prior to joining Psomas, Dr. Jaffe was with a large international engineering firm. He has worked for more than a decade at the intersection of water resource development, water infrastructure design and water policy. Dr. Jaffe has focused his technical expertise on the translation of engineering science into actionable environmental benefits. His accomplishments span both domestic and international projects.
Dr. Jaffe holds PhD and Master’s Degrees in Civil & Environmental Engineering from the University of California, Irvine. In addition, he holds a Master’s Degree in Physical Marine Science from the University of Southern Mississippi/Stennis Space Center. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree at Johns Hopkins University in Earth & Planetary Science.
