Psomas is pleased to introduce Brendan Ottoboni, our new Resident Engineer and Senior Project Manager based in Chico, California. As part of Psomas’ Construction Management team, Brendan will spearhead projects for clients around Chico and the surrounding region in Northern California.
“Brendan brings superb technical skills along with a collaborative and unifying spirit,” said Byron Tobey, Vice President of Construction Management. “We are pleased he chose Psomas as his new home, and we’re confident he’ll be an asset as he helps our clients solve some of their toughest challenges. With Brendan, we’ll be better able to provide services throughout the Sacramento Valley and Northern California. We look forward to having him grow with us.”
Brendan is well-regarded in the civil engineering field and the region, previously serving as Director of Public Works, Engineering, for the City of Chico. There he oversaw and managed a $50M annual budget for Chico’s Capital Improvement Program and engineering efforts in development, traffic and sewer/storm drains.
Under Brendan’s leadership, the City of Chico played key roles supporting major disasters—including recovery and development for the Oroville Dam Spillway failure and the response to the destructive Camp Fire in 2018.
Additionally, Brendan secured $96 Million in federal and state grant funds through the following programs:
- The Active Transportation Program (ATP)
- Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP)
- Infill Infrastructure Grant Program (IIG)
- Economic Development Administration (EDA)
- Highway Bridge Program (HBP)
- Urban Greening Grant Program
Brendan prides himself on the relationships and team that he built and looks forward to carrying those through to the well-established, outstanding culture at Psomas. We look forward to tapping into Brendan’s experience to see our current projects to success and utilizing his expertise as we expand our services in Northern California.
