Psomas’ booth: N733, Public Safety Area
Psomas’ Spatial Technology Solutions (GIS) team has been hard at work this past year bridging the gap between “GIS as Technology” and “GIS as Everyday Tool” in emergency response, asset management, water network efficiency, and visualizing the urban environment with Story Maps.
Please stop by our booth to say “hi” and reconnect, both professionally and personally.
Three of our clients are presenting about GIS Solutions that Psomas supported. Consider attending these sessions.
Enterprise GIS Migration from MapGuide to ArcGIS: Strategy and Lessons
Presenters: Tim Eisler, City of Dublin; Han Chu, Psomas
When: Tuesday, 3:15 – 4:30 pm
Where: Room 30A
Part of “Enterprise GIS: Lessons from the Trenches” Session
About: City of Dublin has been a long time user of GIS technology, gradually developing an in-house enterprise tool based on MapGuide by Autodesk. The City recognized the need to leverage GIS in a sustainable program, and developed a GIS Strategic Plan with Psomas that defined a roadmap to move to an ESRI-based enterprise platform and a new citywide GIS viewer. By 2014, City of Dublin had developed and successfully deployed a new enterprise GIS viewer based on ESRI ArcGIS and Latitude’s Geocortex.
Benefits of an Interagency GIS Common Operating Picture

When: Wednesday 1:30 – 2:45
Where: Room 30D
Part of “GIS for Situational Awareness and Decision Making” Session
Presenter: Troy Hightower, KernCOG
When: Thursday 3:15 – 4:40 PM
Where: Room 28C
Part of “Transportation: Planning for Cars, Climate, and Clogs” Session
About: Regional transportation planning agencies (MPOs) have an ongoing need for land use forecasting and analysis in response to Climate Change Law SB 375. In addition, presenting modeling results in the form of visualizations is mandated. GIS-based visualizations are very helpful in the analysis of planning scenarios and conceptual designs. This presentation will demonstrate how visualizations are used in presentations for stakeholders, decision makers, and the general public.
