The Planning Center
1000-Acre Master-Planned LEED® Community
The Teguayo project is a 1000-acre master-planned LEED® community in Saratoga Springs, Utah. This community is nestled into the foothills overlooking Utah Lake with distant views of Mount Timpanogos and the Wasatch Mountains. It is envisioned to provide a variety of land uses that support the resident population and take advantage of the natural setting. Open space elements include the surrounding foothills, landscape buffer zones, drainage corridors, steep slopes, a central community park, a variety of neighborhood parks, pocket parks, linear parks, landscaped medians and parkways, and a trail system that links neighborhoods and community amenities together.
Psomas evaluated the infrastructure alternatives and costs associated with multiple design alternatives. Variation between alternatives was based upon different ways to treat major vehicular circulation patterns, open-space connectivity and view corridors. Psomas developed infrastructure costs for the different alternatives that helped the owner and developer determine the best plan to meet their goals. Due to the rapid growth in Saratoga Springs over the last 5-10 years, many of the existing utility systems in Saratoga Springs are not able to handle the demands of Teguayo. Psomas also evaluated several off-site utility alternatives to upgrade the city’s existing system capacity in order to service the Teguayo development.
