Major Arterial Reconstruction at the Port
The Port of Long Beach underwent a major expansion due to its dynamic growth in international trade within the Pacific Rim. In an effort to accommodate the increase in container cargo, the Port adopted an aggressive Capital Improvement Program.
Conducted under this Program, the Port repaved and reconstructed Anaheim Street in West Long Beach from the Los Angeles River to 9th Street to provide a smoother, safer driving surface. Improvements were also made to sidewalks, bus stops, access for the disabled, landscaping, raised medians, and storm water drainage.
Psomas provided engineering and surveying services in support of several tasks including these improvements and work along the Long Beach Freeway south of Anaheim Street.
