SUSTAINABILITY

Balancing the natural and built environment.

Green design is not a trend, it’s a given. Our clients expect it and we deliver. From designing sustainable water systems in our National Parks to removing pollutants from urban stormwater runoff, from site design for LEED-certified public and private projects to our renewable energy practice, Psomas has established a reputation in the forefront of innovative sustainable design.

We’re active in the sustainable design movement by making presentations at conferences, writing articles and participating in a number of organizations including the US Green Building Council—all efforts that further the principles of green design. Our former chairman of the board, Tim Psomas, is the chairman of the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure (ISI), a partnership of professional engineering organizations that have joined forces to develop an infrastructure sustainability rating system modeled after the LEED rating system for buildings. In our free time, we roll up our sleeves and pitch in to clean lakes, rivers, marshes, and canyon trails as part of Psomas’ Annual Volunteer Day.

At Psomas, we believe in giving back to future generations by working to preserve our planet’s precious resources today.
